A tragic incident occurred at Keystone Resort on Wednesday when a skier was found unresponsive on The Grizz run. Responders from the Summit County Sheriff's Office were dispatched shortly after noon after guests discovered the male skier. These individuals initiated cardiopulmonary resuscitation and contacted authorities.
Keystone Ski Patrol arrived swiftly, providing advanced life-saving measures. The skier was subsequently transported via helicopter to a Denver metro area hospital. Despite the efforts, he was pronounced deceased upon arrival. The deceased skier was identified as a visitor from the Front Range area.
The Summit County Sheriff's Office is continuing its investigation into the circumstances surrounding the skier's death. The Summit County Coroner's Office will officially identify the individual and determine the precise cause of death. The skier was reportedly wearing a helmet at the time of the incident.
