IAS Officer Dies in Tragic Karnataka Road Accident

A tragic road accident in Karnataka's Kalaburagi district has resulted in the death of senior IAS officer Mahantesh Bilagi. The incident took place near Gounahalli while Bilagi was en route from Vijayapura to Kalaburagi.
Mahantesh Bilagi held a significant position as the managing director of Karnataka State Minerals Corporation Limited. His prior service included a tenure as MD of Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (BESCOM). The accident left him with severe injuries.
He was immediately transported to a private hospital in Kalaburagi for treatment. Sadly, despite the best efforts of medical professionals, he succumbed to his injuries. Authorities have registered a case, and an investigation into the fatal accident is currently ongoing.
