She received treatment at Harborview and is now recovering at her home in Bellingham. The bullet remains lodged in her calf, too close to a vein to be safely removed, serving as a constant reminder of the violence.
The shooting, believed to be a gang-related shootout, resulted in three deaths and four injuries, including a 2-year-old child. The victim highlighted the profound mental trauma and survivor's guilt experienced by those affected.
