In Seaford, Delaware, a man is facing multiple charges following a spree of collisions on Old Furnace Road on June 19. The suspect, 36-year-old Angel Morales-Ortiz of Georgetown, allegedly initiated the chaos by sideswiping a pickup truck.
Morales-Ortiz then reportedly continued at high speed, backing into another vehicle and driving around stopped traffic. The incident culminated in a head-on collision with a Ford Fusion. Both Morales-Ortiz and the 20-year-old Fusion driver sustained serious injuries and were hospitalized.
Authorities noted that Morales-Ortiz was driving with a suspended license and displayed signs of impairment, with open alcohol containers found in his Jeep. Upon release from the hospital, he is expected to be charged with vehicular assault, leaving the scene, DUI, and driving while suspended, among other offenses.
