School bus roof ripped off hitting Lancashire bridge

A school bus transporting pupils from Wood Fold Primary School suffered a dramatic roof loss after striking a low bridge in Coppull, Lancashire. The incident, which occurred around 12:30 PM, prompted an immediate response from emergency services.
Approximately 30 children were on board the vehicle. While paramedics treated eight pupils for minor injuries, one eight-year-old boy was transported to a nearby hospital to address a significant head laceration. Thankfully, the bus driver and two accompanying teachers were unharmed.
Authorities closed the road for three hours to manage the recovery of the bus. The children were safely transferred to an alternative coach and returned to their school, where arrangements were made for their collection by parents.
