School Bus Driver Collapses, Bus Crashes; Students Injured

A 60-year-old school bus driver lost his life on Tuesday evening after experiencing a suspected cardiac arrest. The driver, identified as Muralidharan Nair from Koduman, Attingal, was temporarily employed by a private school in Attingal. His medical emergency occurred as the bus approached Muttappalam Junction.
While driving, Nair reportedly slumped sideways, causing the bus to lose control and veer off the road. The vehicle subsequently crashed into a roadside shop that was closed at the time of the incident.
Four students on board suffered minor injuries during the collision. Three were identified as Alfhaz, Abaidas, and Adish, all aged between 10 and 13. One student, also named Adish, sustained a tooth injury. They were promptly transported to a nearby private hospital for treatment.
Locals at the scene immediately rushed Nair to a hospital, where medical professionals pronounced him deceased. His body was later moved to Chirayinkeezhu taluk hospital for an autopsy.
