A tragic road accident occurred in Sahibganj district on Friday morning when an autorickshaw collided head-on with an oil tanker, resulting in the deaths of four people. The victims included the autorickshaw driver, two adult passengers, and a six-year-old girl. The impact of the collision was so severe that the autorickshaw was destroyed.
Five others, including three minors, sustained critical injuries and were rushed to local health facilities. Despite immediate medical attention, two victims were declared dead on arrival at the Ranga community health centre. The injured were transferred to various hospitals for further treatment, with one critical patient airlifted to AIIMS, Deoghar.
Enraged locals accused the Ranga CHC staff of negligence and medical apathy, leading to vandalism at the facility. They demanded better infrastructure and the dismissal of the doctor. Police intervened, and after negotiations, the villagers agreed to the post-mortem examination of the deceased, with authorities assuring an investigation into the alleged negligence.
