Summary
- Truck brakes failed descending a steep hill.
- Nine vehicles and a caravan were smashed.

An out-of-control truck caused significant destruction on a suburban street in Alexandra Headland, Queensland. The building supply truck's brakes failed as it descended a steep hill on Thursday morning.
Eyewitnesses reported hearing a loud noise, comparing it to a train crash, as the runaway truck careened down the hill. It collided with nine vehicles and a caravan, leaving a trail of debris including building blocks.
Remarkably, no one sustained serious injuries in the terrifying incident. The truck driver was assessed by paramedics but did not require hospitalization. The crash resulted in extensive damage, including to a former federal MP's home.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the brake failure and the subsequent crash. The massive clean-up operation took most of the day to clear the road and remove the damaged vehicles.
