Teen Dies After Tragic Bus Boarding Incident

A 15-year-old girl has tragically died from injuries sustained in an accident at the Khedi bus stand in Rewari district. The incident took place on Thursday morning when the girl, a resident of Khedi village, was attempting to board a Haryana Roadways bus en route to Rewari for coaching.

The bus, identified as HR47GV8116 from the Rewari depot, was reportedly heavily crowded. As the girl tried to board, the bus allegedly began moving before she was fully inside. She lost her balance, fell, and suffered severe leg injuries when the bus tyre passed over her.

Following the accident, the bus driver, identified as 57-year-old Ashok Kumar, allegedly abandoned the vehicle and hid in a nearby field. He was apprehended by passengers and villagers, who reportedly assaulted him before police arrived. The incident sparked protests, with locals blocking the road demanding action.

The driver has been detained for questioning, and the bus has been impounded. Police stated that further action would be taken after an inquiry. Meanwhile, representatives from Rewari depot highlighted the issue of bus shortages on the route, which leads to overcrowding and safety concerns for students and other passengers.
