The tragedy claimed the life of 11-year-old Henry Losco, who was found unresponsive in his apartment at 1827 Albert Street. His father was transported to the hospital in critical condition due to carbon monoxide poisoning.
Marina Hills, Henry's mother, discovered her son and attempted resuscitation before first responders arrived. She was later informed of her son's death and her husband's critical condition.
Regina Fire and Protective Services Chief Layne Jackson confirmed that mechanical work on service equipment within the building was identified as the source of the deadly gas release.
