22 Feb
Summary
- Illegal factory imported chemicals from China without licenses.
- Explosion killed seven workers, bodies identified by DNA.
- Three individuals arrested for managing sales, logistics, and labor.

An explosion at an illegal firecracker factory in Rajasthan's Bhiwadi resulted in the deaths of seven workers. The incident has brought to light a scheme where operators imported necessary chemicals and materials from China without obtaining the required licenses.
Three individuals, identified as Hemant Sachdeva, Hemant Sharma, and Abhinandan Tiwari, have been arrested in connection with the operation. Police investigations indicate that the illegal fireworks were produced year-round and distributed nationwide with the assistance of Delhi-based traders.
Sachdeva was responsible for sales and raw material procurement, Sharma managed factory rentals and logistics, and Tiwari oversaw labor and machinery. Senior police officer Manish Chaudhary stated that obtaining the required chemicals in India is difficult without a license, leading the group to use various business permits to source materials from China and operate secretly.
Following the explosion, DNA samples were used to identify the seven deceased workers. Their bodies were handed over to their families six days later. The administration provided transport, including ambulances and buses, to facilitate the families' journey with the remains to Champaran, Bihar.
