Summary
- A fire completely destroyed a residence on May 31.
- Four individuals sustained minor injuries during the blaze.
- Two dogs are currently unaccounted for after the incident.

A fire that erupted on the afternoon of May 31 completely destroyed a residence in Prince George County. Fire crews were dispatched around 12:20 p.m. to a fire on the front porch of a home in the 9000 block of Lake Fungs Road.
Upon arrival, firefighters encountered heavy fire involving the structure. Due to the absence of hydrants in the area, crews had to establish rural water supply operations to combat the extensive flames. An aggressive response was mounted, but the residence was ultimately lost.
Several vehicles parked at the property were either destroyed or severely damaged by the fire. A civilian and a firefighter suffered minor injuries and were transported to local hospitals. Two other firefighters received treatment for injuries at the scene.
Tragically, two dogs that resided in the home are unaccounted for. However, the family was not displaced by the fire and has secured alternative accommodation. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
