Powerful Storm Topples Gas Station Canopy in San Diego

On Saturday evening, a severe storm with heavy rain and strong winds swept through San Diego County, causing a dramatic incident at a local gas station. The canopy of an ARCO station located at the intersection of Fairmount Avenue and El Cajon Boulevard in City Heights collapsed due to the intense weather conditions.
Fortunately, no one was injured when the canopy structure snapped at its base and fell over. Workers at the gas station reported that the area was experiencing particularly strong winds during the storm. Despite the damage, vehicles were still able to continue pumping gas at the station after the incident.
The storm system brought significant rainfall to the region, with Oceanside recording nearly 3 inches of rain over the past three days. The San Diego Airport also saw close to 2 inches of precipitation during the storm. While the initial weather event has passed, more rain is expected to move into Southern California in the coming days, from Monday through Wednesday.
