Two elderly women undertaking the Char Dham yatra tragically lost their lives early Friday morning in Badrinath. The pilgrims, identified as 63-year-old Prema Devi and 71-year-old Ramu Devi, both from Rajasthan's Bhilwara region, were participating in the ritualistic holy dip at the Tapt Kund hot springs. The incident occurred around 5 am as they performed repeated dips before visiting the Badrinath shrine.
According to reports, the two women collapsed and fainted in the water while completing a ritualistic 108 dips. Alert individuals present at the scene quickly pulled them from the springs and rushed them to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, medical professionals pronounced them dead upon arrival.
Following the completion of necessary legal procedures, the families of Prema Devi and Ramu Devi transported their bodies to Haridwar to perform the final rites. They were part of a larger group of pilgrims from Rajasthan who had embarked on the spiritual journey.
