Summary
- A small commuter plane crash-landed into two North Phoenix homes.
- Three people narrowly escaped death from the plane debris.
- The FAA cited mechanical failure as the probable cause.

In a terrifying incident, a small commuter plane crashed into two North Phoenix homes, narrowly missing a catastrophic outcome. The aircraft descended rapidly, impacting the back gardens of two residences and leaving occupants with mere seconds to escape the ensuing chaos.
Video footage captured the dramatic moments before the crash, showing the plane hitting the first home's roof with its wing before somersaulting and nose-diving into the second property's backyard. The plane came to rest on its nose, severely damaged.
Remarkably, three individuals narrowly escaped serious injury. The first home was occupied by a man who sustained minor injuries, while the second residence's occupants were not home at the time. A flight instructor and student pilot aboard the four-seater plane were treated at the scene.
Investigators believe a mechanical failure caused the Piper PA-28 to attempt an emergency return to Deer Valley airport, ultimately leading to the crash. Hazmat crews addressed a fuel leak, and several nearby homes were evacuated as a precaution.
