Pensioner Dies After Tragic Fall at Lyme Regis Harbour

A man in his 70s has tragically died after slipping from the iconic Cobb harbour wall in Lyme Regis, Dorset. The incident occurred yesterday afternoon, with emergency services, including the RNLI and air ambulance, arriving shortly after 12:51 PM.
While walking with his wife, the man lost his footing and fell into the sea. His wife also slipped but landed on the wall, sustaining injuries to her head and arm. A crew member from the RNLI bravely entered the water to reach the casualty, who was subsequently recovered using ropes.
Sadly, the man could not be saved and was pronounced deceased at the scene. His family has been informed. This incident is not being treated as suspicious and follows a similar fall two weeks prior on the same slippery harbour wall.
