Summary
- A Palmdale woman and her cat were bitten by the same rattlesnake.

A woman in Palmdale, Los Angeles County, and her pet cat, Magic, are recovering after being bitten by the same rattlesnake on consecutive days last week. The initial incident occurred Wednesday when the woman was bitten on her index finger while in her backyard. She was quickly transported to a hospital, where she received anti-venom.
Tragically, the following day, Magic the cat was also bitten. Magic was promptly taken to a veterinarian and administered anti-venom. Medical professionals stress that rapid treatment is crucial for rattlesnake bites, as venom can cause severe and fast-acting symptoms.
Cary Quashen, from The Snake School, was called to the home to locate the snake. He eventually found it after an extensive search. This incident serves as a crucial reminder for Southern California residents to stay alert, particularly in brushy or shaded areas during hot weather, and to supervise pets and children closely outdoors.
