NY/NJ Flooded Again: Cars Submerged, Homes Damaged

Strong storms have brought another wave of flooding to communities in New York and New Jersey. Passaic County, already battered by rain for the last two weeks, experienced aggressive downpours on Monday morning. Intersections and roadways in Hawthorne were submerged, with cars again becoming stuck in high water along Goffle Road, a recurring issue from the previous week.

Further south in Morris County, flooded streets were reported outside homes in Dover. The severe weather's impact extended to New York, where a large tree fell near Cross Island Parkway in Queens Village, crushing a car and damaging a nearby home. On Long Island, an LIRR train collided with a tree that had fallen across the tracks in Smithtown, causing damage to the engineer's compartment and resulting in one person being transported to the hospital.
