6 Nov
Summary
- Fire in Noida cinema's projector room during Ramayana screening.
- Audience evacuated safely; fire quickly controlled by staff.
- Another fire caused by decorative lights outside a mall.
A fire incident occurred at US Cinemas within Galaxy Blue Sapphire Plaza in Bisrakh, Noida, on Thursday evening. The blaze originated in the projector room of Auditorium 10 during a screening of the film Ramayana. Smoke billowing from the room led to panic among approximately 15 audience members, who were promptly evacuated. Theatre management responded swiftly, bringing the fire under control using on-site equipment, thus preventing further escalation.
The incident, which took place around 7:30 PM, is suspected to have been caused by a short circuit due to overheating electrical wires. The movie screening was immediately halted, and operations in three other auditoriums were also suspended. Fire services and police teams arrived at the scene shortly after being informed.
In a separate event on the same day, a fire broke out in decorative lighting adorning trees and plants outside Gaur City Mall. This fire, also suspected to be caused by electrical wiring sparks as part of Diwali decorations, created a scare for shoppers. Mall employees quickly extinguished the flames using available fire safety equipment, ensuring the fire did not spread.
