A partial roof collapse at a multi-unit apartment building in Bloomfield, New Jersey, has resulted in the displacement of numerous residents. The incident occurred on Friday at 27 Park Pl. due to water damage affecting the northeast corner of the roof. This damage led to significant water leakage throughout multiple units.
The Bloomfield Building Department has declared the building, which contains 27 residential units, uninhabitable. Fortunately, not all tenants were present during the collapse. Only one person suffered injuries, reporting back pain while evacuating the premises. This individual was transported to Mountainside Hospital for assessment.
Police and fire personnel have secured the scene. Efforts are underway to provide support for the displaced residents, including temporary housing and essential assistance.
