Man admits Vegas sidewalk crash, toddler injured

A Nevada man, Gavin Caci, has pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including reckless driving causing substantial bodily harm. The charges stem from an incident where Caci crashed his Tesla into a family of three, including a toddler in a stroller, who were waiting on a sidewalk. The crash, which occurred in February, resulted in the toddler being thrown and striking a pole. Both the child and her mother sustained life-threatening injuries. The toddler suffered a brain bleed, skull fracture, and broken femur, while the mother also experienced a brain bleed. The father sustained only minor injuries.

Caci fled the scene after the collision but was followed by a witness and eventually stopped at a Topgolf parking lot. The victims, who were visiting from the United Kingdom, have since returned to their home country to continue their recovery. Caci, who reportedly worked as a club promoter in Las Vegas, is scheduled for sentencing in October. His plea includes charges for driving under the influence resulting in substantial bodily harm and failing to stop at the scene of the crash.
