A tragic incident occurred on the Hyderabad-Khammam national highway in Suryapet early Sunday morning, claiming the life of neurosurgeon Dr K Jagadeesh Babu. His car veered off the road, struck a service road barrier, and erupted in flames, completely engulfing the vehicle and its occupant.
The accident happened near the Pillalamarri flyover around 7:15 AM. Dr Babu, 50, was en route to Hyderabad to meet his family. He had been serving at a private hospital in Khammam for approximately two decades, leading the neurosurgery department.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash. While initial suspicions point to the doctor potentially dozing off due to sleep deprivation, police are reviewing CCTV footage from toll plazas and examining the vehicle for any mechanical failures. The victim's body was severely charred, initially making identification difficult.
