- Over 600 lives lost and thousands missing after devastating flash floods.
- Corporate and individual donors pledge over NPR 2.295 billion for relief.
- Rescue efforts continue amid rainfall, with nearly 2,500 evacuated.

Nepal is facing one of its worst natural disasters following devastating flash floods. Over 600 people have lost their lives, and more than 2,400 remain missing as of Saturday. The floods swept through towns and villages, destroying homes, infrastructure, and hydropower projects.
Rescue efforts are actively underway, with nearly 2,500 individuals, including 163 foreigners, safely evacuated. However, intermittent rainfall in affected regions presents ongoing challenges for the teams racing against time.
In a remarkable display of solidarity, Nepal's public sector, private companies, and individuals have pledged significant financial aid. Over NPR 2.295 billion has been donated to the Prime Minister's Disaster Relief Fund, bringing its total balance to NPR 4.09 billion.
Major corporate contributions include NPR 150 million from Surya Nepal, NPR 50 million from Jyoti Group, and NPR 30 million each from Prime Commercial Bank and Agricultural Development Bank. Raji Rana, an 87-year-old philanthropist, personally donated NPR 10.98 million.
