A fire erupted in a four-storey Kuber CHS building in Ghansoli, Navi Mumbai, on Saturday around 8 pm. Six individuals, including a 10-year-old girl, sustained minor burn injuries while evacuating. The affected residents were taken to different hospitals, with their conditions reported as stable.
The fire originated in an apartment on the second floor and rapidly escalated, engulfing apartments on the third and fourth floors. Three apartments were completely destroyed, and adjacent flats suffered damage. Firefighters arrived promptly and worked for two hours to control the blaze, successfully rescuing 15 residents trapped by smoke.
Preliminary investigations suggest a short circuit in the second-floor apartment may have caused the fire, though this is yet to be officially confirmed. The fire was fully extinguished by 10:30 pm, followed by a cooling operation. The incident highlights the swift response of emergency services in a critical situation.
