10 Jun
Summary
- A 6m-long cabin cruiser boat was fly-tipped on a rural road.
- The vessel mysteriously appeared overnight near Wisbech.
- Authorities removed the boat on the same day it was reported.

Motorists were surprised to find a 6-meter-long cabin cruiser boat fly-tipped on a rural road in the Cambridgeshire Fens. The vessel mysteriously appeared overnight on High Side, between Gorefield and Parson Drove, near Wisbech, containing furniture.
Fenland District Council was notified of the abandoned boat on Monday. Contractors quickly placed cones and tape around it for safety due to heavy vehicle traffic on the road, and the boat was removed the same day. The incident generated considerable discussion on social media, with some residents humorously speculating about its sudden appearance.
In addition to the boat, the council reported that two caravans filled with rubbish have also been dumped in Fenland recently. The council emphasized that fly-tipping incurs significant costs for taxpayers and that those responsible face prosecution, potentially leading to a prison sentence or an unlimited fine. They also highlighted their household bulky waste removal service for responsible disposal.
