Before her death, Mrs. Spooner wrote 'sorry' and 'I love you' on a hospital whiteboard, a poignant message revealed at an inquest. The inquest, held in South London, heard that Mrs. Spooner, a mother to a six-year-old boy, had lived abroad for several years.
While the Thai authorities provided limited evidence, a post-mortem examination in the UK confirmed multiple injuries consistent with a fall. The coroner recorded a conclusion of accidental death, acknowledging the limited evidence from Thailand. A fundraiser was established to help repatriate Mrs. Spooner's body and cover funeral costs.
