A 19-year-old worker tragically lost his life due to electric shock on Sunday in Mumbai's Jogeshwari area. The incident occurred at Shyam Nagar Lake when the worker, identified as Rohit Bhimu Rathod, entered an artificial pond set up for Ganesh idol immersion.
Rathod was appointed by the contractor responsible for the immersion site. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but was declared dead upon arrival. This unfortunate event marks the second electrocution during the Ganesh idol immersion festivities on Sunday.
Earlier in the day, a separate electrocution incident in the Lalbaug area resulted in the deaths of two individuals, including an eight-year-old girl. At least four others were injured in that incident.
