Two tragic road accidents in Mumbai within two days have resulted in the deaths of four young individuals. On Monday, college students Jenil Thumar, 19, and Mehak Nirman, 18, died in Borivli East. Their motorcycle reportedly struck a divider, throwing them off and into the path of another vehicle. They were pronounced dead at Bhagwati Hospital.
Earlier on Sunday, Zahir Amlani, 28, and his friend Irshad Hussain, both residents of Mira Road, met a similar fate. They were run over by a truck on the Western Express Highway at Dahisar East. The truck driver, Salman Khan, who fled the scene, was later apprehended in Gujarat.
Kasturba Marg police are investigating the sequence of events in the Borivli crash, while the driver in the Dahisar incident faces charges. Post-mortem examinations are scheduled for the victims of the Borivli accident. These incidents highlight the dangers faced by commuters on Mumbai's roads.
