Devastating Mumbai Accident: Actor Slams Safety Lapses

On February 14, a devastating incident occurred near the Johnson & Johnson factory on LBS Road in Mumbai's Mulund area when a segment from the under-construction Mumbai Metro Line 4 collapsed. The falling parapet crushed an autorickshaw and a car, resulting in one fatality and three injuries. The deceased has been identified as Ramdhan Yadav.
Actor Hrithik Roshan reacted strongly to the tragedy, describing it as "heartbreaking and traumatic." He took to social media to call for stricter safety measures, particularly given the extensive development across Mumbai's busy streets. Roshan highlighted that both construction workers and daily commuters must be ensured protection.
Authorities have swiftly responded, arresting five employees from the contractor firms involved in the project. An FIR has been registered, and investigations are ongoing. The Maharashtra Chief Minister announced financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh for the family of the deceased. This incident has intensified public discourse on urban planning, oversight, and the human cost of rapid development in Mumbai.
