Goregaon Flyover Panels Fall, Narrowly Missing Cars
19 Jun
Summary
- Noise barrier panels fell onto S V Road after a dumper truck collision.
- The incident occurred near the Relief Road junction, just before the flyover's landing.
- No injuries were reported due to the early morning timing of the incident.

Two noise barrier panels installed on the Mrinal Tai Gore Flyover extension in Goregaon detached and fell onto S V Road below early on Friday, June 19, 2026. The panels were hit by a dumper truck that was being driven recklessly. The truck rammed into the divider near the flyover's landing, causing the rear portion to strike the noise barriers.
Fortunately, the incident occurred in the early morning hours, and no pedestrians or vehicles were present beneath the flyover at the time of the collapse. Civic officials confirmed that an FIR has been registered against the driver of the dumper truck. The Mumbai BMC bridges department swiftly repaired the fallen panels by the evening of the incident.
This incident raises concerns, as the flyover extension was only inaugurated two weeks prior on June 6, 2026. Social media had previously seen complaints about the flyover's unevenness and appearance, though the BMC defended the work. The noise barriers were specifically installed to mitigate sound pollution for local residents.
