The blaze was reported at approximately 7:20 PM at the Lakshya Chandi Building in Gokuldham Colony, with the fire primarily affecting the sixth floor. Firefighters successfully rescued an elderly woman, identified as 72-year-old Indu Tarkeshawar Singh. She was rushed to Lifeline Hospital in Goregaon, where she was unfortunately pronounced dead by medical personnel. It is currently unclear if her death resulted from injuries sustained or smoke inhalation.
The fire was fully extinguished by 11:20 PM, with cooling operations commencing thereafter. The cause of the incident is still under investigation. The response involved police, ambulance services, and municipal staff to support the extensive firefighting and rescue efforts.
