Summary

- The century-old home was difficult to fight due to its many void spaces.

A devastating house fire on January 17th tragically claimed the lives of Mary Ann Schwartz, 68, and her adult children, Aislynne, 22, and Sol, 32, in their Spring Grove Village home. The fire, which erupted just after 7 p.m. off North Edgewood Avenue, proved difficult for firefighters to control due to the century-old home's many void spaces.
Family members reported that Mary Ann Schwartz bravely re-entered the burning residence in an effort to rescue her children, embodying a mother's ultimate sacrifice. Mary Ann was remembered as a kind and energetic soul who dedicated her life to caring for others, working as a respiratory therapist and later a home health aide.
Her children also had distinct passions; Aislynne loved to dance, often participating in events for children with disabilities, while Sol was a talented artist. Their surviving brother, Dylan Archambault, has been set up a GoFundMe to aid in this difficult time as the community grieves this profound loss.
