Mom Shares Grief After Son's Preventable Drowning

Emilie Kiser, a content creator, has broken her silence in her first interview since her 3-year-old son Trigg's drowning. Trigg died in May 2025 after falling into their backyard pool while his father, Brady Kiser, was present and supervising their younger son, Teddy. The initial report of Brady losing sight of Trigg for a few minutes was contradicted by police video evidence, showing over nine minutes of unsupervised time before Trigg entered the water.

While the Maricopa County Attorney's Office opted not to charge Brady Kiser, citing no likelihood of conviction, Emilie has since focused on her grief journey and advocating for water safety. She described her son's death as a "very preventable accident" and expressed a commitment to raising awareness. Kiser urged parents to install pool fences, use door alarms, and maintain constant supervision around water, highlighting that drowning is the leading cause of death for children under three.

In the interview on Jay Shetty's podcast, Kiser also discussed learning to live with grief rather than healing from it, emphasizing the role of therapy and extending empathy and forgiveness. She recently returned to social media after a "much-needed" break to be with her family and process the difficult emotions, particularly around the anniversary of Trigg's death.
