A tragic accident in Brazil has claimed the life of 31-year-old MMA fighter Pablo Oliveira Costa. The incident occurred while Costa was installing an air-conditioning unit, a job he undertook during the summer months.
As he maneuvered a metal ladder, it inadvertently made contact with a high-voltage power line, resulting in a fatal electric shock. Emergency services arrived to find Costa unconscious, suffering severe burns and tissue damage.
Paramedics initiated immediate first aid and CPR, which continued for approximately 40 minutes. However, Costa experienced cardiac arrest and was ultimately pronounced deceased at the scene. He was known for his dedication to Muay Thai, MMA, and Jiu-Jitsu, with aspirations of becoming a professional fighter.
Costa's trainer, Mateus Nascimento, noted that they were actively preparing for his professional debut. Tributes from friends and fellow athletes have poured in, remembering his passion and commitment both in training and competition. His wake was held on February 7 in São José.
