The body of Tyron Keyonnie was recovered from Canyon Lake on June 12, authorities reported. Keyonnie had been reported missing three days prior to the discovery. A family member had last heard from him on June 6.
His vehicle was located near the popular recreational area in Tonto National Forest by another family member. The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office Lake Patrol Division successfully recovered Keyonnie's body later that evening. The Maricopa County Office of the Medical Examiner will now determine the official cause of death.
This incident is the second water-related death at Canyon Lake within approximately two months. In May, an 18-year-old named Jaysyn Robles drowned while attempting to swim across a cove at the Boulder Picnic recreation site.
