Drones Aid Search for Missing Ben Nevis Climber

An extensive search is underway for Brian McGillicuddy, a 64-year-old climber reported missing in Lochaber last Thursday. McGillicuddy failed to return from a planned excursion on Ben Nevis, with indications suggesting he may have been on the Orion Face Direct route or heading to the CIC Memorial Hut.
Search and Rescue Aerial Association - Scotland drone pilots have been deployed alongside volunteers from various mountain rescue teams. These teams include Lochaber, Glencoe, Oban, Police Scotland, and RAF Lossiemouth. A coastguard helicopter and the Search and Rescue Dog Association (Scotland) are also supporting the operation.
McGillicuddy was last seen on Thursday at approximately 04:00 GMT in the vicinity of Glasdrum Road in Fort William. He is described as 6ft 1in, of slim build, with short grey and white hair. At the time he was last seen, he was wearing a white climbing helmet, a dark blue jacket, white jeans, and blue and red gaiters. Authorities are appealing for any information from the public regarding sightings of McGillicuddy or someone matching his description in the area on Thursday.
