A resident outside Houston, Texas, experienced an unexpected event when a meteorite penetrated her home's roof. The celestial object entered her daughter's bedroom, ricocheting off surfaces before settling on a bed. Fortunately, no one was present in the room during the impact, and no injuries were reported. Fire officials initially suspected a fallen aircraft part but later revised their assessment after NASA confirmed a meteor sighting.
NASA stated that a meteor, estimated to be three feet in diameter and weighing around a ton, became visible 49 miles above Stagecoach, Texas. It traveled southeast at 35,000 mph, fragmenting 29 miles above Bammel. This fragmentation reportedly generated pressure waves that caused audible booms in the area. The homeowner has decided to keep the heavy meteorite as a memento.
