Tragedy has struck as the body of 19-year-old Marly Kinney was found near Grayson Lake on Sunday afternoon. Kinney had been reported missing five days prior, prompting an extensive search effort.
The discovery was made by multiple agencies around 3:45 p.m. in the Grayson area. The family has been notified, and the Carter County Coroner responded to the scene. The State Medical Examiner's Office in Frankfort will determine the official cause of death.
Kinney was last seen on Wednesday during a boating excursion on Grayson Lake. The disappearance led to a massive search involving numerous local and state agencies, as well as community volunteers.
In connection with the incident, 23-year-old Cameron Conley was arrested Wednesday on a boating under the influence charge. Conley stated he could not locate Kinney, who was with him on the boat. His case remains separate as the investigation into Kinney's death continues.
