Man Rescued from Grain Silo After Hours Trapped

A 65-year-old man was dramatically rescued from a grain silo in Dunolly, central Victoria, on Tuesday evening. The man had become trapped for several hours at the GrainCorp facility on Thompson St.
Emergency services, including Ambulance Victoria, Victoria Police, CFA, Fire Rescue Victoria, and the State Emergency Service, were dispatched to the scene. A specialist Air Ambulance Victoria helicopter crew and intensive care paramedics attended.
The complex multi-agency rescue operation concluded successfully around 7pm, freeing the man. He was then transported via helicopter to Melbourne for urgent medical treatment. The extent of his injuries is not yet known.
GrainCorp confirmed the incident occurred at its Dunolly site and stated they were supporting emergency services. Meanwhile, WorkSafe Victoria has initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the entrapment.
