An unidentified man, approximately 60 years old, who was rescued by Hanumanganj police from a nullah during heavy rainfall on the night of June 28, passed away five days later. The rescue operation took place near Puttha Mill after torrential rains caused the drain to overflow. Constables Mohit Shivhare and Rajendra Raghuvanshi were on patrol when they heard the man's cries for help. They discovered him trapped in deep slush within the overflowing drain, potentially having suffered a head injury.
Constable Shivhare bravely entered the drain to secure the victim while Constable Raghuvanshi alerted other officers. After a challenging rescue, the man was pulled to safety and administered CPR, regaining consciousness before being rushed to Hamidia Hospital. Despite five days of treatment, the man succumbed to his injuries on Friday, July 4, 2026.
