Man Injured After Failed Suicide Jump Onto Bridge Beam

On Tuesday afternoon, a 26-year-old man named Aditya Mishra attempted to end his life by jumping from the Kasheli bridge onto the Kasheli-Thane Road. His fall, however, did not lead him into the creek as intended; he tragically landed on a concrete beam beneath the bridge, sustaining significant injuries.

The incident was reported to the Disaster Management Control Room around noon. Passers-by promptly alerted rescue services, including police, the Fire Brigade, and the Thane Disaster Response Force. Local fishermen also lent crucial assistance with their boat during the extensive rescue effort.

After approximately one hour, rescuers successfully retrieved Mishra. He was handed over to the Kapurbawdi police and subsequently taken to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Hospital in Kalwa, where he is currently receiving medical care. The Kapurbawdi police are continuing their investigation into the matter.
