- The victim's family seeks accountability from the transport authority.

A recent tragedy saw a man lose his life after becoming trapped in an escalator. Disturbing footage emerged showing over a dozen people passing by without offering assistance as the man struggled. One individual was seen briefly stopping before continuing on their way. Authorities discovered the victim, McClusky, unresponsive and pinned within the escalator steps. Paramedics performed CPR at the scene, but he was rushed to Massachusetts General Hospital. He remained in a coma for 10 days before passing away on March 9, 2026.
The MBTA described the incident as a 'terrible accident' and urged the public to help those in need. However, McClusky's family has stated their desire for the transport authority to 'take accountability' for the death. His sister emphasized that they do not want the authority to claim they did nothing wrong. An investigation into this ongoing tragedy is still underway.
