Two mild earthquakes rattled Maharashtra's Hingoli district on Saturday morning, causing brief alarm among the local population. The initial tremor, measuring 3.3 on the Richter scale, occurred at approximately 7:46 AM, with its epicenter located 7 km deep in Gadhala village. This was followed about two hours later by a more substantial jolt of 4.5 magnitude, which was felt across various parts of the district.
While the tremors generated concern, especially with accompanying rumbling sounds reported by villagers, authorities confirmed that no injuries or damage to property occurred. The Hingoli district has a history of seismic activity, with similar tremors experienced over the past six years. Most recently, in July, two tremors of magnitudes 4.6 and 3.5 reportedly caused cracks in some homes. Authorities have urged residents to remain calm and vigilant.
