Liverpool Parade: 150 Injured in Unrelated Incidents
6 Mar
Summary
- Nearly 150 people were injured during the parade in separate incidents.
- Burns were the most common type of injury reported on the day.
- Safety expert recommended stricter rules for flares and climbing.

A recent report on Liverpool FC's 2025 Premier League title victory parade has disclosed that 146 individuals received medical treatment for injuries sustained during the event. These incidents were entirely separate from the tragic Water Street car attack. North West Ambulance reported burns as the primary cause of injury among parade attendees.
Safety expert Eric Stuart conducted an independent review of the parade's organization, finding the planning to be thorough despite the unanticipated "unprecedented" crowd size of an estimated 1.2 million people. Stuart suggested that future large-scale events might benefit from being held in isolation to manage potential risks more effectively.
The report identified "high-risk behaviour," such as climbing on lampposts and scaffolding, as a significant concern. Stuart recommended stricter regulations for the use of flares and new legal powers to address such actions, emphasizing the influence of social media in promoting dangerous stunts. He also called for government action against pyrotechnics manufacturers and suppliers.
Furthermore, the review pointed to a legislative gap regarding safety responsibilities for scaffolding and empty buildings. Stuart urged for new laws enabling authorities to ensure structural safety before major public gatherings. Despite the issues, he affirmed the city's capability to host similar large-scale events in the future.
