23 Jul
Summary
- House fire occurred early Saturday morning, July 19.
- A nearby vehicle fire is also under investigation.
- Authorities are treating both fires as suspicious.
An early morning house fire on July 19 in Lions Bay is being investigated as suspicious, with police suspecting a connection to a vehicle fire discovered shortly after. The residential blaze on Kelvin Grove Way was fully engulfed when emergency services arrived around 4 a.m.
Residents reported hearing sirens and seeing large flames. Some neighbours went door-to-door to ensure others were aware of the danger. The Sea to Sky RCMP and Lions Bay Fire Department responded to the scene.
Authorities later received a report of a vehicle fire on Ocean Point Drive, a short distance from the residence. No injuries were reported in connection with either incident. The Sea to Sky RCMP General Investigation Section is leading the investigation into the cause of both fires.
