A University of Lincoln student, Connor James Calleja, aged 20, drowned while under the influence of alcohol, an inquest has revealed. His body was discovered on January 13th during a search of Foss Bank, a body of water situated near Brayford Pool.
The inquest into his passing was opened by coroner Jayne Wilkes at the Myles Cross Centre in Lincoln on Thursday. It has since been adjourned until July 15th.
Connor, who originally hailed from Market Harborough in Leicestershire, was last seen on the university campus on January 11th. His family shared a poignant tribute, stating their profound loss but finding solace in the knowledge that he was happy and cherished by those around him.
