Two men have tragically died following the crash of a light aircraft in Greater Manchester. The incident occurred around 11:00 GMT on farmland near the M62 in Littleborough, close to Rochdale.
The Cirrus SR 20 aircraft had taken off from Birmingham Airport's XLR Executive Jet Centre about an hour earlier, at approximately 10:00 GMT. Emergency services were dispatched to the scene on Tunshill Lane.
Greater Manchester Police confirmed that the bodies of two men were recovered. No other individuals were believed to be on board, and there were no injuries reported on the ground. A cordon remains in place.
