A British holidaymaker has secured a significant financial settlement after contracting Legionnaires' disease while on vacation in Cuba. Gary Cushnie, from East Yorkshire, fell ill six days into his June 2022 trip and required hospitalization upon his return to the UK.
His solicitors, Hudgell Solicitors, stated that Cushnie likely contracted Legionnaires' at the Iberostar Grand Packard hotel in Havana, the first of two hotels he and his partner visited. They alleged Tui failed to maintain adequate hygiene standards, putting customers at risk.
