A tragic accident in Karnataka's Mandya district resulted in the death of a Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus driver. The driver, identified as Shekhar, died at the scene when iron rods from a collided tractor pierced his vehicle.
The KSRTC bus rammed into the tractor from behind near Varahasandra Gate. The impact caused the iron bars loaded on the tractor to penetrate the front of the bus, tragically killing the driver.
More than ten passengers sustained injuries, with eight reported to be in critical condition. They are currently receiving medical attention at AIIMS in Bellur. The incident falls under the jurisdiction of Bellur Police Station.
Visuals from the accident site show the extent of the damage, with rods piercing the bus and its windshield shattered. The tractor's front was overturned. Investigations are underway to determine the precise cause of the collision, and further updates are expected from the Bellur Police.
