A sleeper bus carrying 43 passengers from Jaipur to Gorakhpur overturned on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway in Kanpur on Thursday morning. The incident occurred in the Araul area after the driver lost control of the speeding vehicle, causing it to strike the expressway's divider and overturn.
Six passengers sustained injuries in the accident and were promptly taken to the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Bilhaur. One individual, identified as Anil, was later referred to Lala Lajpat Rai (LLR) Hospital in Kanpur due to the severity of their injuries. The driver, Vijay Singh, a resident of Agra, was operating the bus when the accident occurred.
Emergency services, including police and UPEIDA personnel, arrived at the scene to assist. They facilitated the transfer of the injured to the CHC. Other injured passengers included Shaida Dugga, Ajay Singh and his four-year-old daughter, Sumitra Devi, and Rajan.
